Mitchell Dale McCarty, husband of Tina Muse McCarty, of Owingsville, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2015. He was a 32 year old native of Bath County, son of William and Linda Wells McCarty of Owingsville, a farmer and member of the Christian faith. In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by 3 daughters, Haylee and Brooklynn McCarty, both of Owingsville and Destiny Manning of Georgia, and 2 brothers, Matthew McCarty of Owingsville and Michael McCarty of Mt. Ruby May Kidd Clemons

Ruby May Kidd Clemons, wife of Howard Clemons, of Mt. Sterling, passed away Monday, January 26, 2015. She was an 89 year old native of Ohio, daughter of the late Robert and Callie Elkins Kidd, retired employee of Clemons Used Cars, and member of Hope First Church of God, Eastern Star, American Legion Auxiliary, and past president of the Montgomery County Homemakers, and a church pianist for over 60 years. She loved her home, family, gardening and her flowers. She will be greatly missed my all. In addition to her husband, she is survived by 3 sons, James Howard (Wilma) Clemons of Indiana, Ivan (Carol) Clemons of Mt. Sterling, Darrell Clay (Kathy) Clemons of Ohio, a daughter, Tracy (Jim) Russell of Oklahoma, 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, a sister, Stella Reynolds of Mt. Sterling, and a brother, Charles (Diana) Gabbard of Florida. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane Clemons, a son, Allen Dale Clemons, and a sister, Reva Marler and a great-grandson, Elijah Russell. Her funeral will be 2:00 Friday at Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals with burial in Machpelah Cemetery. Visitation is 12-2:00 Friday. Elmer “Glenn” Sparks, husband of Karen Napier Sparks, of Mt. Sterling, passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2015. He was a 49 year old native of Fayette County, son of Betty Oliver Sparks of Mt. Sterling, and the late Elmer Sparks, a factory maintenance man, and member of the Baptist Church. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by a son, Michael Sparks of Frenchburg, 2 daughters, Glenna Lewis of West Liberty and Michelle Sparks of Clarksburg, Tennessee, a stepdaughter, Brandi Napier of Stanton, 7 grandchildren, 1 step-grandchild, 3 sisters, Carolyn Davidson of Mt. Sterling and Gerald Barrett of Jeffer-sonville, 1 granddaughter, Nicole Barrett of Winchester, 3 step-grandchildren, Monica, Tim and Mark Barrett, all of Jeffersonville, 2 sisters, Joy Grigsby of Indiana and Virginia Carr of Ohio, a sister-in-law, Imogene Fetick, and 4 brothers-in-law, Mose (Ann) Barrett, Willis (Juanita) Barrett, Clark (Donna) Barrett, and Tom Barrett.
