Melissa “Missy” Ann McCarty Fogle, daughter of Roger Dale and Louise Manley McCarty, of Mt. Sterling, passed away Monday, July 21, 2014. She was a 42 year old native of Montgomery County, a LPN and member of the Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she is survived by a son, Landon Eli Fogle, a sister-in-law, Tammy McCarty, 2 nieces, Lauren and Kaitlin McCarty, special friend, Todd Stark and best friend, Shatika Stull, all of Mt. Sterling. She was preceded in death by a brother, Jeffery McCarty. Irene Elwood Daniel Shoemaker

Irene Elwood Daniel Shoemaker, widow of Newton Shoemaker Jr., passed away Thursday, July 17, 2014. She was an 88 year old native of Montgomery County, daughter of the late Stanley and Minnie Pearl Mapel Daniel, a retired employee of the Montgomery County School System, one of the original paraprofessionals in the Adult Education Program, and a member of the Christian Church. She is survived by a son, Daniel L. (Sandra C.) Shoemaker of Lexington, a brother, Ronnie P. (Sheila R.) Daniel of Bartow, Florida, 2 grandchildren, Jared D. (Scarlett) Shoemaker of Greenup, and Sarah E. (Matt) Shields of Lexington, 4 great-grand-children, Sydney D. and Sophia E. Shoemaker and J. Samuel and Skylar E. Shields, and a nephew, Stanley H. Omer “Shorty” Thompson, husband of Charlene Wightman Thompson, of Mt. Sterl-ing, passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2014. He was a 76 year old native of Bath County, son of the late William Clarence and Anna Mary Manley Thompson, a retired employee from Coca Cola and member of the Church of God. In addition to his wife, he is survived by 3 daughters, Marilyn Raney and Pamela Orme, both of Mt. Sterling and Peggy Renfro of Versailles, a son, Danny Thompson of Danville, 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Edith Mae Crouch of Michigan. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Lillie Crump and Nevada Ferguson, and 4 brothers, James, Kent, Earl and Billy Thompson. Patty Ann Cole Rudd Pugh, wife of Carrol Ray Pugh, of Jeffersonville, passed from this life Wednesday, July 9, 2014. She was born June 17, 1942 at Ezel, Kentucky to the union of the late Rollie and Corine Helton Cole. She was a former employee of Pathways Inc. and Montgomery County School System. She attended the Pentecostal Church most of her life. She loved her God and her family. In addition to her husband, she is survived by 2 sons, Brian and Tim Rudd, both of Mt. Sterling, a stepdaughter, Kathy Ann (Mark) Simon of Morral, Ohio, 2 step-grand-children, Jacob and Carlie Simon, a sister, Janet Sue (Tommy) Sexton of Sharpsburg, 2 brothers, David (Teresa) Cole of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Rick (Patty) Cole of Ezel, 2 nephews, Brad (Ashley) Cole and Jason (Ilana) Sexton, 2 nieces, Christi (Mitch) Crump and Lacey Cole, a great-niece, Presley Cole, and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Debbie (Dennis) Thompson of Versailles, a son, Gary Wayne (Debi) Martin of Frankfort, 4 stepchildren, Wayne, Larry and Gwen Richardson, and Fran Johnson, 2 grandchildren, Gary Martin Jr. and Buddy Warner, 4 great-grandchildren, Katelin Woods, Landon and Lori Ann Martin, and Cody Warner, 4 sisters, Dorothy Conkright of Mt.
