Iva Clarice Baker Shubert, widow of William Sherman Shubert, of Georgia, passed away Saturday. She was an 89 year old native of Montgomery County, a housewife and a member of the Church of God. She is survived by a daughter, Beverly Jones of Albany, GA, a son, Ralph (Barbara) Shubert of Albany, GA, 5 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters, Gertrude McNay of Mt. Sterling and Lois Urmey of Dayton, Ohio, and 2 brothers, Maurice Baker of Mayer, AZ, and Lloyd Baker of Bristol, VA. Charles “Charlie” Vice, husband of Diana Newsom Vice, passed away Friday, November 20, 2009. He was a 75 year old native of Nicholas County, the son of the late Marion Thomas and Gladys Shields Vice, and a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. He was a retired Hobart Manufacturing employee, former jailer for 7 years, former deputy sheriff and a member of Oleika Shriners, Masonic Lodge, KY Colonels and Scottish Rites. In addition to his wife, he is survived by 2 daughters, Charlotte Vice of Lexington and Sherry (Randy) Cuzick of Nicholasville, a son, Jeff Vice of Lexington, 4 grandchildren, 2 stepgrandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, a stepdaughter, Becky Rudd of Felicity, Ohio, a brother, Harold Vice of Hazard, and 4 sisters, Coretta (William) Crump, Joyce (Ralph) Smathers, all of Sharpsburg, Nancy (Clifton) Hart and Janette (Tommy) Orme, all of Mt. Pansa Lois Wausinger, widow of Robert Wausinger, passed away Sunday, November 15, 2009. She was a 72 year old native of Powell County, the daughter of the late Willie Estill and Nancy Ann Watkins King, and a member of the Church of Latter Day Saints. She is survived by 3 sisters, Phyllis Dibbie of Lake Placic, FL, Julia Ewen of LaGrange, and Dorothy Conkwright of Clay City, and several nieces and nephews. Russell “Buck” Blevins, husband of Lilly Marlene McCarty Blevins, passed away Sunday, November 1, 2009. He was a 73 year old native of Bath County, a farmer, and a member of the Church of God.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by 4 sons, Gary and wife Teresa Blevins, Anthony and wife Shanna Blevins, Michael and wife Darlene Blevins, and James and wife Janice Blevins, all of Mt Sterling; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers Leonard and David Blevins, both of Bath County, and Clay Blevins of Mt Sterling; and 1 sister, Glenna McNabb of Carlisle.

He was preceded in death by 1 brother, Bill Blevins; 1 sister, Gladys Crouch; and 1 great-granddaughter, Alexis Paige Vance.

Funeral service is 11:00 AM Wed., November 4, 2009 at Herald & Stewart Chapel with burial in Machpelah Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-9 PM Tuesday.
