Charles “Charlie” Vice, husband of Diana Newsom Vice, passed away Friday, November 20, 2009. He was a 75 year old native of Nicholas County, the son of the late Marion Thomas and Gladys Shields Vice, and a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. He was a retired Hobart Manufacturing employee, former jailer for 7 years, former deputy sheriff and a member of Oleika Shriners, Masonic Lodge, KY Colonels and Scottish Rites. She was a 72 year old native of Powell County, the daughter of the late Willie Estill and Nancy Ann Watkins King, and a member of the Church of Latter Day Saints. Russell “Buck” Blevins, husband of Lilly Marlene McCarty Blevins, passed away Sunday, November 1, 2009. He was a 73 year old native of Bath County, a farmer, and a member of the Church of God.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by 4 sons, Gary and wife Teresa Blevins, Anthony and wife Shanna Blevins, Michael and wife Darlene Blevins, and James and wife Janice Blevins, all of Mt Sterling; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers Leonard and David Blevins, both of Bath County, and Clay Blevins of Mt Sterling; and 1 sister, Glenna McNabb of Carlisle.

He was preceded in death by 1 brother, Bill Blevins; 1 sister, Gladys Crouch; and 1 great-granddaughter, Alexis Paige Vance.

Funeral service is 11:00 AM Wed., November 4, 2009 at Herald & Stewart Chapel with burial in Machpelah Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-9 PM Tuesday.
