Helen Ray McPherson Spencer, widow of Clarence “Red” Spencer, of Hope-Means Rd. passed away Monday, December 28, 2009. She was an 84 year old native of Montgomery County, the daughter of the late Estill and Emma Rogers McPherson, a housewife and a member of the Church of God. She is survived by a son, Clarence (Teresa) Spencer Jr. of Montgomery County, 3 daughters, Betty (Jerry) Smallwood and Patricia (Jackie) Rogers, all of Means, and Debbie Spencer (Charlie Puckett) of Mt. Sterling, 5 grandchildren, Vernon Dean Rogers, Stephen Richard Smallwood, Jacqulyn Damron, Susan Jo Sponcil and Clarence Spencer III, 10 great-grandchildren, a sister, Bernice Buffin of Lexington, an aunt, Thelma Walters of Hope, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. William “Bill” Lee, husband of Linda Lewis Lee, of North Middletown, passed away Thursday. He was a 67 year old native of Powell County, and the son of the late Henry Hayden and Mary Catherine Willoughby Lee. In addition to his wife, he is survived by 2 daughters, Mary Frances Osborne of North Middletown and Regina Gayle McCall of Nicholas County, a son, William Lee II of North Middletown, 7 grandchildren 1 great-grandchild, 3 sisters, Judy Means and Elsie Martin, both of Jeffersonville, and Opal Price of Lexington and 2 brothers, Jim Lee of Mt. Sterling and Tom Lee of Lexington. There will be a gathering of family and friends in his rememberance 1:00 Saturday at the North Middletown Christian Church with burial to follow in North Middletown Cemetery. Harry Curtis Jones, husband of Roberta Reynolds Jones, of Sewell Shop, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2009. He was a 71 year old native of Morgan County, a self-employed businessman, and a member of the Baptist Church. He was the son of the late Lester and Mariah Gevedon Jones. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Jeff Jones of Winchester, 8 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, 2 brothers, John Jones and Bobby Gene Jones, both of Morgan County, 2 sisters, Gerleen Nickell of Morgan County and Peggy Prater of Jeffersonville and many loving nieces, nephews and friend.
