Paul Kiser, widower of Malvia Lee Adams Kiser, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2011. He was an 83 year old native of Letcher County, son of the late Emmitt and Ada Tyree Kiser, an Air Force veteran, retired mechanic and watch and clock repairman, and a member of New Hope Pentecostal Church. He is survived by a son, Bill (Sheila) Kiser of Mt. Sterling, 2 grandchildren, Shane (Alecia) Kiser and Heather Kiser, 2 stepgrandchildren, James and Jacob Williams, 6 brothers, Owen Kiser of Salt Lick, Ray Kiser of Florida, A.C. She was a 68 year old native of Bourbon County, daughter of the late Howard Mac and Ann Florence Caswell McCarty, co-owner and operator of Tacketts Plumbing and Heating, a housewife and a member of the Baptist faith. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Edith “Edie” Tackett Shields, a son, George R. (Sharon) Tackett Jr. of Jeffersonville, 6 grandchildren, Lisa Tackett of Bath County, George Thomas Tackett, Christi Tackett, Curtis Griffin and Candace Griffin, all of Montgomery County, and Amy Tackett of Rockcastle County, 9 great-grandchildren, a brother, Rankin McCarty of Little Rock, Arkansas, 3 sisters, Gladys Hunt of Mt. JoAnn “Jo” Highley Ramey, wife of James D. Ramey, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2011. She was a 77 year old native of Sudith, daughter of the late B.W. Buck and Manie Moore Highley, and retired employee from Plasti-Kote in Medina, Ohio. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Hal D. (Emma) Parks, Rhonda Parks (Darrell Stone), Charlotte Parks, Robin (Kathy) Parks, Kimberly “Kym” Parks, Edwin Parks, and Jennifer Parks (Lanny Blake), grandchildren, Tammy (Norman) Swartz, Rick Parks, Robert (Tracy) McDaniel, T.J. Lawson, Brooke Jackson, Jamie McDaniel, Mindy (Tim) Swonger, Michelle Parks (Andrew Starr), Justin (Shelley) Parks-Baker, Joee Parks, Ryan Parks, Ciara Parks, and Carly Parks, and sixteen great-grandchildren, her siblings, Roma Armitage, B.W. Highley Jr, Sidney (Kay) Highley, Lillian (Arvil) Barnes, Franklin D. Highley, and Judy (Harold) Hunt. She was preceded in death by siblings, Bethel Greene, Mary Francis “Frankie” Patrick and beloved pets, Buster and Manny. There will be a private memorial service for her at a later date.
