James Marion “Punkin” Davis, husband of Della Tabor Davis, passed away Sun-day, July24, 2011. He was a 68 year old native of Montgomery County, son of the late James E. and Hettie E. Wilson Davis, Army veteran of the Vietnam War, retired employee from Bluegrass Army Ordinance, and a member of the Baptist Church and Mt. Sterling Masonic Lodge #23, serving as Past Master and District Deputy twice. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Sharon Davis of Jefferson-ville, a son, Tony H. (Jackie) Davis of Mt. Sterling, 2 grandsons, James Christopher Davis of Lexington and Derek Allen Jones of Mt. Sterling, a great-grandson, Jacob Allen Jones of Mt. Sterling, a brother, Leslie “Beaky” Davis of Mt. Sterling, special grand-niece, Brittany Davis of Jeffersonville and special friend, Travis Carpenter. Sterling, son of the late Charles and Pearl Mae Meadows Rogers, an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, and retired carpenter and employee from C.E. Crews citrus grove company in Florida. He was a member of the Kentucky Colonels, American Legion, and Grace Fellow-ship Tabernacle. She was an 87 year old native of Knoxville, TN, daughter of the late James Thomas and Louise Hilliard Sydnor, and a member of the First Baptist Church. She was a retired employee of the University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service, a member of Montgomery County Homemakers and Fair Board, a Sunday School teacher, Girl Scout Troop #610 leader and a 4-H volunteer for over 50 years. She is survived by a daughter, Roberta Louise Hunt of Springfield, 2 sons, Calvin (Debra) Hunt Jr. and Samuel Thomas (Roberta) Hunt, all of Mt.
