Billy M. Rogers Sr., husband of Elsie M. Gray Rogers, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2011. He was a 68 year old native of Mt. Sterling, son of the late Charles and Pearl Mae Meadows Rogers, an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, and retired carpenter and employee from C.E. Crews citrus grove company in Florida.
He was a member of the Kentucky Colonels, American Legion, and Grace Fellow-ship Tabernacle.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by 3 daughters, Sydney (Greg) Wiley of Sebring, Florida, Millie (Danny) Barker and Melinda (Jimmy) Wiley, both of West Liberty, 2 sons, Billy Rogers Jr and Thomas (Sally) Rogers, both of Mt. Sterling, 5 grandsons, Justin, Chris, Gregory, Mathew and Joshua, 9 great-grandchildren, 3 sisters, Elsie (Bob) Carpenter of Jeffersonville, Ola Francis Browning and Peggy (Yale) Harvard, both of Mt. Sterling, a brother, William “Tuney” (Polly) Miles of Louisville and numerous nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be 11:00 Tuesday at Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals with burial in Machpelah Cemetery. Visitation is 6-9:00 Monday.
