James Robert Thomas, widower of Frances Garrett Thomas, passed away Thurs-day, February 23, 2012. He was a 94 year old native of Bath County, son of the late William and Hattie Mae Thomas, an Army veteran of
WWII, retired Avon Army Depot employee and a member of High Street Christian Church and Masonic Lodge #56.
He is survived by 2 daughters, Bonita Hunt Scott of Mt. Sterling and Bobbie Jean Burns of Cincinnati, Ohio, a daughter-in-law, Cindy Ferguson Garrett of Louisville, 7 grandchildren, Sonya Scott, Elgin and Collin Garrett, Debra Jean Carter, Elizabeth Hooker, Kenny and Ray Burns Jr., several great-grandchildren, including Elise Scott, and 2 brothers, Earl and Roger Thomas, both of Louisville.
His funeral will be 1:00 Monday at High Street Christian Church with burial in Olive Hill Cemetery. Visitation is 11-1:00 Monday at the church. Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals is in charge of arrangements.
