Christine Gabbard, wife of 27 years of Edward Gabbard, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2012. She was a 57 year old native of Breathitt County, daughter of the late Rev. Virgil and Martha Deaton Gabbard, a school teacher and educator. In addition to her husband, she is survived by 2 daughters, Jennifer (Ben) Wright of Winchester and Joyce (Mike) Kelsay of Columbia, a son, Bobby Haddix of Winchester, grandchildren, Jonica Davis, Tommy, Jackson, Hunter Clay, Dylan Patrick, and Mason Wright, Kyle and Kyla Kelsay, and Delainey Haddix, sisters, Helen (Roger) James and Norman (Johnny) Gross, Lois (Bruce) Brindley, Anna (Barry) Morris, Evangeline Gabbard and Elizabeth Roberts, and brothers, Howard (Lois) Gabbard, and J.B. Gabbard, mother-in-law, Della (Ken) Baker, brother-in-law, Paul Gabbard, numerous nieces and nephews, and special friend, Melanie Gabbard. Virgilene Markland Davis, wife of Michael Dean Davis, passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2012. She was a 51 year old native of Magoffin County, daughter of Betty Risner Markland of Mt. Sterling, and the late Robert Markland, a surgical technician at the Labor and Delivery department of Central Baptist Hospital for 22 years, a member of the Eastern Star and active committee member of the Perinatal Loss Counseling at Central Baptist Hospital, and a member of the Baptist Church. In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by a daughter, Tiffany (Adi) Antoni and a son, Homer Todd Smith, both of Lexington, 3 stepdaughters, Gina DeBruler of Jeffersonville, Dede Davis of Mt. Sterling and Toni (Jeremy) Foushee of Lexington, 7 grandchildren, Keira, Ashlynn and Drew Antoni, Summer and J.D.
